Mama Tikilili’s Granddaughters
Nakhene Marhamba is 10 years of age. She attends Siyaphambili School and is currently in Grade 5/strong>
Mama Tikilili lives in Kwazahkele Township and is caring for her two granddaughters Nakhene and Yhaka who both live with her. Nakhene is HIV positive following the death of her mother to HIV/AIDS and is taking ART (medication for HIV infection). The grandmother is the sole bread-winner for her granddaughters.
Nakhene loves to help her grandmother with chores in the home. Nakhene enjoys school she is athletic and she also sings. Her favorite subjects at school are Math’s, English, Life Science and Technology. Nakhene also loves to go to church with her grandmother in the township community. When she grows up she would like to become a Medical Doctor. Yakha Marhamba is 6 years old, she attends Yaphambili School and is in Grade One.
She loves to attend school and loves playing singing and dancing. She would love to be a teacher when she grows up. Yakha also love to attend church with her grandmother and she love to sing church choruses.
Sponsorship through Julian’s Children would ease the stress and tension Mama Tikilil experiences in providing and caring for her grandchildren.
